Understanding Our YouTube Permissions

To provide you with powerful analytics and content management tools, our app called ‘Your YouTube Channel’ requests access to your YouTube account through Google’s secure OAuth process. Below, we explain the permissions we request and how we use your data to enhance your creator experience.

Requested Permissions

YouTube Read-Only Access (youtube.readonly)

This permission allows us to view your YouTube account details, such as video metadata (titles, descriptions, views), playlists, and subscriptions. We use this data to generate insights, like performance trends and audience engagement, to help you optimize your content strategy.

YouTube Secure Management (youtube.force-ssl)

This permission enables secure management of your YouTube account over an encrypted connection (SSL). It allows actions like controlling livestream transitions (e.g., starting or ending streams) and updating video settings, making it easier to manage your content securely.

Why We Need These Permissions

Our platform is designed to empower YouTube creators like you. The youtube.readonly scope powers our analytics dashboard, providing actionable insights to grow your channel. The youtube.force-ssl scope ensures secure, seamless control over your livestreams and videos, saving you time and effort. All access is protected by Google’s industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol.

How We Protect Your Data

  • Focused Data Use: We only access data necessary to provide analytics (e.g., video views, audience demographics) and management features (e.g., livestream controls).
  • Encryption: All data is transmitted and stored securely using encryption to protect your privacy.
  • No Sharing: Your data is never shared, sold, or used for purposes beyond our platform’s features.
  • Data Retention: We retain data only as long as needed to deliver our services, and we delete it securely when no longer required.
  • User Control: You can revoke our access at any time through your Google Account Permissions.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We comply with Google’s OAuth policies to ensure a secure and transparent experience. Our app is in testing mode, working with select partners to refine features before our October launch. For Google’s verification, we’ve detailed our scope usage and data practices here and in our Privacy Policy.
