3 Stories : 3 Different Outcomes

Paths to Healing

Below are three different philosophies or paths people use in an attempt to heal. Note, each involve visualization, but only 1 places visualization (how you feel) at its core. Can you guess which 1?

Which one are you?

Sin

The picture the brain creates:

God has judged you. You must find peace with God, so you do not go to hell!

The solution: Repent from your sin and pray for God’s forgiveness. Repent means to change your behavior and turn away from sin.

The challenge: You asked God for forgiveness but you do not feel that God has forgiven you.

Disorder

The picture the brain creates:

Your brain is broken. Perhaps the picture shows you homeless or dying young because you cannot find a good job, get married, and have children.

The solution: Don’t worry, doctors can offer medication and therapy. You will not live a full life as you had hoped, but you will survive.

Challenge: You will probably need medication for the rest of your life, and there is no timeline regarding how long you will need therapy.

Addiction

The picture your brain creates:

You are holding in your hands the cigarettes that you are addicted to and then use see yourself throwing them in to the garbage and walking away.

Solution: The hypnotist helps you to accept its only a story that your mind has created and you can change it. Your unconscious with its (your) limited ability to develop strategies at age 7, did its best. You are older now and can develop better strategies.

The Challenge: This model for healing is so different from the others that it sounds a bit crazy. You must belief that you and the help of your community is enough to change the addiction (bad habit) to a good one.

Good news, Rick helps people who choose #3 all the time. He is a certified hypnotherapist.
